Feasibility study

The objectives of the programme should always guide the project. Its suitability to the site, climate, application and budgetary requirements are all essential considerations during the feasibility process. It is during this process, engaging with experts on design related matters that we can identify potential challenges to our clients and make suggestions for mitigative strategies.

Site Evaluation

Once the site has been identified a thorough evaluation is conducted for the site. Any geophysical concerns will be identified depending on the programme requirements. Site boundaries and topography will be verified as this will impact the Grenada Building and Planning Codes.

Project Management

While Grenada has many very experienced Building Contractors we have found that the Administration of the construction contract is critical for the successful completion of the projects. Within this process control can be exercised over cost, time and quality. It also facilitates make timely decisions as needed on site. This is a particularly important stage for the interior design process.

Planning

In order to start construction each project must obtain a building permit. To obtain a building permit plans have to be submitted for approval to the Physical Development Authority (PDA). We submission on behalf of the client and ensure that all necessary changes or information is submitted as needed to ensure the quickest possible time for the granting of a building permit. Approvals from PDA normally require 2-3 months, baring any unforseen circumstances.

Architectural Design

Contemporary Caribbean (CC) pay particular importance to the 3 main tenants of architectural design i.e. stability, utility and beauty. To achieve these tenants requires the creation of a comprehensive design package, inclusive of detailed drawings, specifications and quality documentation. Our aim is always to provide the highest standards with our wide breath of understanding, innovation, materials and advances in technology. We promote passive and active cooling methods in the support of sustainability.

Interior Design

Interior spaces are all about the program and how the occupants want to live or work in the space. It is an aspect of design that some building projects miss, but it is one of the most important aspects. After all, construction is about 2 - 5yrs and occupancy goes on for many decades. Our interior design expertise is human-focused. First we look at the psychology of the programme and layout. Based on these interviews we create mood board options and select materials, fixtures and furnishings to support the programme and desired aesthetics. We have a track record of providing quality and design elegance.

Landscape Design

As part of our aim to promote sustainability we understand the importance of the integration of the built structure with the environment (biomorphic design). Our first consideration is always how the building will impact the site. This will indicate the degree and layout of the cut and fill for the design. Landscaping is incorporated into the design process to facilitate a hollistic vision of a home, commercial or institutional environment .
